Each month, we take time to recognise the incredible people across EMED who go above and beyond – living our CARE values and making a difference to patients, colleagues and the wider community.

In August, we received some truly inspiring nominations, recognising exceptional professionalism, compassion and teamwork across our regions. Here are just a few of the colleagues who stood out this month…

ANNE LEECH – HD ACA, Shropshire
Anne has had an outstanding year delivering consistently high standards across every area of her role. Known for her professionalism, positivity and humour, Anne’s dedication and perfect attendance set a shining example. Her exceptional driving standards and attention to detail help us deliver a safe and effective service every day.

“Anne is a pleasure to work with and a true professional. Her efforts and contributions to the service this year are recognised and truly appreciated.”
– Stephen Lovell, Shropshire Operations

GARY WILSON – Courier Services, Crewe
Gary has gone above and beyond to keep operations running smoothly at Crewe, stepping in to cover sickness and annual leave, and training agency drivers to ensure continuity of service.

“Without Gary’s help recently, we would not have been able to offer the level of service our customers expect. Thank you, Gary!”
– Mark Evans

MELISSA AUSTIN – Ashville
Melissa’s courage and compassion shone through when she assisted injured people during the Nottingham attacks in June 2023. Her bravery was later recognised in a personal letter from her local MP – a well-deserved moment of closure and pride.

“Melissa showed true courage and determination in such difficult circumstances. She embodies what it means to stand together and help those in need.”
– Karen Watts

GREG WOOTTON – Shropshire
Greg has been recognised twice this month – both for his professionalism and his compassion.

After witnessing a colleague involved in a minor RTC, Greg stopped to check on her safety and wellbeing, providing reassurance in a stressful situation. His kindness made a lasting impression.

“He didn’t need to stop, but I’m so grateful he did. It made me feel better knowing he cared enough to make sure I was okay.”
– Hope Hartley

Greg was also nominated for his consistent excellence and resilience. Despite a serious cycling accident less than a year ago, he’s maintained perfect attendance, achieved a 99.6% Lightfoot score and continues to set a high standard for others to follow.

“Greg’s reliability, professionalism and positivity have earned the respect of colleagues and management alike. He’s an asset to the Shropshire team.”
– Stephen Lovell

Thank You
Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to all of our recognised colleagues. Your actions – big and small – make a difference every day and help us build a service that’s truly caring, safe and effective.
