After a rigorous procurement process, EMED Group’s specialist Medical Courier Services division has been awarded a key courier contract for the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System.
This five-year contract is a significant step towards enhancing access to healthcare across the region. EMED Courier Services will now be responsible for transporting crucial specimens, surgical equipment, store items, pharmacy items and more across the Norfolk and the Waveney region.
The service will cover over 230 locations, including GP practices, hospitals, and clinics.
Gary Brown, Regional Operations Manager at EMED Courier Services, said, “I’m thrilled to have been awarded this contract and to start delivering high-quality courier services across Norfolk and Waveney. The service will provide vital deliveries of important specimens, drugs and equipment across various locations and we look forward to working with the local GPs and forming a robust partnership”.
This courier services contract went live on 1st April 2024. It will be overseen by a dedicated operations manager and delivered by over 40 drivers operating out of bases in Norwich, Great Yarmouth and King’s Lynn.
