EMED launches patient transport services in Leicestershire

Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland are set to benefit from the launch of a new patient transport service in the region, offering increased healthcare accessibility. The service aims to provide a reliable and efficient travel solution for those needing non-emergency medical care, such as outpatient appointments, discharges, and renal dialysis.

The new service is a collaborative effort between EMED Group and the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (ICB), reaffirming their shared commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services to communities within the region.

The patient transport service, which began operations on July 1, 2024, offers safe and timely transport solutions that cater for individual health needs while providing a comfortable and accessible experience for patients.

The patient transport service deploys a dedicated team of certified drivers and Ambulance Care Assistants who take every necessary step to ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers. Each trip is planned and coordinated to suit individual requirements, with additional support for wheelchair-bound patients.
