At EMED Group, we believe that small changes can have a big impact. For patients living with dementia – and their carers – the experience of non-emergency patient transport can be challenging, so making these journeys more comfortable and less stressful is one of our core priorities.

That’s why we’re so pleased to be working with organisations like the Alzheimer’s Society and Healthwatch, learning from the valuable work they have been involved in with the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust. This work has already led to improvements that make a real difference to people’s experiences of patient transport, offering calmer, more thoughtful journeys that better meet the needs of people living with dementia.

We’re listening closely, taking on board the insights and advice shared by these organisations and exploring how we can apply similar approaches within EMED. From small adjustments in crew training and vehicle environments, to better communication with patients and carers, these are the kinds of meaningful changes we are committed to making.

Supporting people living with dementia is a core strand of our work, and we know there is always more we can do. By continuing to work with expert voices like Alzheimer’s Society and Healthwatch, we will keep striving to improve patient journeys – making every trip as safe, comfortable and dignified as possible.

We look forward to sharing more updates soon.
