As we come to the end of 2025, it feels like the right moment to pause and reflect on the year at EMED Group and on the people, partnerships and communities that have shaped it.

This year has been defined by care, commitment and collaboration. Whether out on the road, in our bases, or behind the scenes, our teams have supported over 125,000 patients, across two million individual journeys, to more than 700 hospitals and care settings. Along the way, we’ve handled 1.6 million calls and kept 1,100 ambulances moving – a huge collective effort that simply wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our people.

Alongside service delivery, we’ve continued to invest in listening, learning and connection. We worked closely with Healthwatch Sussex on a patient survey, partnered with Lived Experience Networks through ride-alongs, launched a new Patient Care video, and spent time filming with our volunteers to highlight the vital role they play. We’ve also been out in our communities – from school visits across the counties and regions we serve, to fundraising initiatives including a particularly Brave the Shave for Cancer Research in Leicestershire.

2025 has also been a year of milestones and momentum. We celebrated awards wins, long service awards and our Shining Stars Recognition Event in September, recognising colleagues who consistently go above and beyond – showing compassion, professionalism, teamwork and quiet leadership in everything they do. As we finish the year, it feels fitting to do so alongside these superstars, and to thank all colleagues and partners who helped make this year such a strong one.

We mobilised major contracts across BOB, Frimley and Sussex, achieved Safe Care independent CQC registration to support expanding services across Wales and Sussex, secured a contract extension with Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust through to 2027, renewed our hospital discharge service at Salisbury Hospital, and partnered with Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust to deliver school-age vaccines across Essex. Our Norfolk service was rated ‘Good’ overall by the CQC, and we successfully retained our ISO 14001 and 9001 accreditations. We also strengthened external relationships – from sponsoring the North West London Pathology Symposium to attending NAPICU and building new partnerships with universities.

This year also brought moments of change. We said goodbye to our COO, Mike Woodall and also Jeroen Van Os our Chief Commercial Officer, thanking both for their contributions. We were delighted to welcome Hannah Bailey as Quality and Patient Safety Director and Steve Woodhams as Chief Financial Officer, strengthening our leadership as we look ahead. We were also proud to see our Group Chief People Officer, Justine Vaughan, spending time on the road meeting teams across our southern sites, reinforcing just how important connection and visibility are.

As we head into 2026, we do so proud of what’s been achieved, grateful to those who’ve worked alongside us, and focused on continuing to improve patient experience, safety and trust – doing the basics brilliantly and building from there.

Thank you to all our colleagues, partners, volunteers and communities. This year really has been something special.
