We are very pleased to announce that EMED Group has joined the Disability Confident scheme at the Committed level. As a business, we value equity, diversity and inclusion, and this initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to challenge attitudes, increase understanding of disability, and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential and feel respected in the workplace.

Disability Confident is a government initiative designed to encourage employers to recruit and retain disabled people and those with health conditions. Latest estimates indicate that 16 million people in the UK had a disability in the 2021/22 financial year. Historically, there has been a large gap between the number of disabled people employed compared with non-disabled people. The rationale behind the Disability Confident scheme is to tackle this gap by mobilising employers to retain or recruit disabled people together with actively encouraging a diverse employee group.

Justine Vaughan, Group Chief People Officer at EMED Group, said, “Joining the Disability Confident scheme reflects our core belief that talent and potential are boundless and diverse. By embracing this initiative, we are not only opening doors to even more talent but also enriching our workplace culture with unique perspectives and experiences. We’re proud to lead by example and inspire change, fostering an environment where every individual’s contribution is valued, and every achievement celebrated.”
