Recognising outstanding performance and dedication in the workplace is important at EMED Group to help create a positive and motivated work environment. At EMED, we take real pride in acknowledging the hard work and commitment of our colleagues each month. Here we celebrate just a few of our stellar Shining Stars, who have gone above and beyond in their roles!
Phil Harvey & Louise Heath, Worcester
Nominated by fellow ACA Andy Norman
Phil and Louise demonstrated exceptional dedication to patient care when they took a patient back to her home in Worcester after she had been in the hospital for several days. After ensuring she was settled in her bed, they discovered the milk at her house was off. Without hesitation, they went to a local shop and purchased fresh milk, cake, and a newspaper for her. Upon their return, they prepared a comforting cup of tea and carefully checked to ensure she was comfortable before leaving. Thank you Phil and Louise for showing such a deep commitment to provide outstanding care for your patients.
Mary McCormack and Hannah Ford, Salisbury
Nominated by Salisbury Operations Supervisor Nigel Grant
Salisbury-based crewmates Mary and Hannah compassionately transported a patient with dementia and diabetes from a nursing home in Swindon to an appointment in Southampton. They encountered some challenges at the nursing home, which understandably left the patient distressed on their arrival. Despite the difficulties, the crew went out of their way to support the patient and ensure he made it to his appointment. They even sourced lunch for the patient and his carer during the journey, showing genuine care and empathy. Their dedication to providing exceptional care and treating patients with dignity is admirable. Additionally, the crew worked late to complete the journey, demonstrating their commitment and compassion. They truly are a credit to the Salisbury base where they work.
Lisa Craven, Crewe
Nominated by Liam York
Crewe-based Courier Team Leader Liam York wrote to tell us about colleague Lisa Craven: “Lisa is an outstanding member of the PTS team in Crewe. She has a remarkable ability to lighten up any room and bring laughter and joy to those around her, whether she’s in the ambulance or elsewhere. Lisa has formed strong bonds with the patients she transports, and their positive feedback on the surveys reflects this. When given tasks, Lisa consistently surpasses expectations. She frequently sacrifices her days off to cover shifts at short notice, and her colleagues appreciate her reliable and dedicated work ethic. In a challenging situation, Lisa successfully handled an elderly lady driving the wrong way down a dual carriageway, remaining calm and ensuring the lady received the help she needed. Lisa was able to calm the situation, direct traffic, and get help for the lady in question.
Upon being recognised as Shining Stars, individuals receive a gift voucher and a Shining Star certificate to commemorate their outstanding achievements. Additionally, all award recipients will be invited to a special annual event dedicated to celebrating their successes.
