At EMED Group, our mentors play a vital role in shaping the future of patient transport services. Recently, a dedicated team of mentors travelled to Sussex to support the launch of our new service, sharing their expertise and ensuring new colleagues are fully equipped to provide the best care. Here’s a closer look at their incredible work…

At EMED Group, we pride ourselves on having a team that goes above and beyond, and our mentors are a shining example of this. From Northumberland to Somerset, Nottinghamshire to Shropshire, our mentors bring with them a wealth of experience and a passion for patient transport. They understand the huge responsibility that comes with transporting patients to essential medical appointments, and sometimes at the end of their lives – such precious cargo. EMED’s mentors are dedicated to passing on their knowledge to ensure that the standard of care starts and remains high.

Over the last few weeks, a group of our dedicated mentors have been working tirelessly in Sussex, helping to deliver our new patient transport service to the region. They’ve been involved in a wide range of essential tasks, including everything from taxiing colleagues between bases, kitting out ambulances and conducting familiarisation sessions for TUPEing staff, to driving assessments that free up the training team for other duties. And they’ve even been featured on camera, talking about the new service and what it will mean for communities across the county.

These mentors haven’t just been sharing their knowledge – they’ve been role models. Leading by example, they’ve welcomed new colleagues into the fold with warmth, practical skills and an unwavering commitment to the job. It’s no easy task, but they’ve done it with the kind of camaraderie that makes EMED such a special place to work.

A huge thank you to the mentors and the operations managers who made it possible for them to come down to Sussex and share their expertise. Their contributions have been invaluable and they are making a real difference to the success of our patient transport service in the region.
