EMED’s values are more than just words on a page. They guide the way we work, the way we support one another and the way we deliver care for patients and communities every single day.

This week we’re shining a light on the value of being Collaborative – working as one team with a shared purpose. Collaboration is about pulling together, across roles, regions and responsibilities, to make a difference.

We’ve seen so many fantastic examples of colleagues demonstrating this value and here are just a few that really stand out:

Ian Overy – Operations Mentor, Shrewsbury
Ian has been described as the definition of collaborative. He gives his time generously, mentoring colleagues, offering constructive feedback, and helping teams grow in confidence. Whether it’s through sharing knowledge during appraisals or stepping in to support crews when things get tough, Ian embodies the ‘One Team’ approach that makes EMED stronger.

William Wingfield – Rotherham
Will has shown outstanding teamwork in Rotherham, always ready to lend a hand to colleagues and consistently putting the needs of the service first. His positive attitude has been noticed across the local team, with line managers praising his reliability and willingness to support others. Collaboration, for Will, means ensuring nobody is left behind.

Kaviloan Venay & Jordan Harrison – Burgess Hill
Kaviloan and Jordan are a true double act in Burgess Hill. They’ve been recognised for the way they work together and with their wider team to provide safe, efficient patient care. Colleagues describe them as “delighted” to nominate – a reflection of how their collaborative spirit uplifts those around them.

Hayley Walker – PTLO, County Hospital, Staffordshire
Hayley has built a reputation for consistency and teamwork. Always approachable and dependable, she plays a vital role in keeping services running smoothly. Her colleagues point out that she doesn’t just do her job – she works with others, ensuring every patient journey is supported by a collective effort.

Denise White – HR Admin Team
Denise is a quiet but vital force in HR. Over the years, she’s supported colleagues across the whole organisation, often behind the scenes. Her knowledge, reliability and approachable manner mean she is always a go-to person for help. Denise shows that collaboration isn’t just frontline – it’s also about the strong foundations that keep our One Team standing.

Tanya Porter – Central Ops
Tanya’s contribution during recent mobilisations was a clear example of collaboration in action. She worked closely with multiple teams, going above and beyond to support colleagues through a challenging period. Her involvement made the process smoother for everyone involved – a reminder that collaboration often sits quietly behind the scenes, making things happen.

Stephanie Nunn – Burgess Hill Safe Care
Steph has taken on the role of Operations Manager in Safe Care and immediately made collaboration her hallmark. She works seamlessly across departments, building trust, motivating her team and ensuring that everyone feels supported. Her leadership is grounded in a spirit of togetherness, helping colleagues deliver the very best for patients.

These colleagues remind us that being Collaborative often it’s about the small, everyday actions like stepping in, sharing knowledge, supporting one another, which all add up to something bigger.

These examples highlight the many ways our colleagues bring collaboration to life. Thank you to everyone across EMED who shows, day in and day out, what it means to work as One Team.
