As we approach the end of another successful year at EMED Group, we’re proud to share the milestones we’ve achieved across all four divisions, all dedicated to enhancing health and care services in our communities.
Patient Care division
Launch of Four New Major Patient Care Contracts: This year saw the successful mobilisation of new contracts in Surrey, Leicestershire, Leicester & Rutland, South Yorkshire, and Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, significantly enhancing our ability to deliver high-quality patient care across these regions.
Swindon Team’s Response at Great Western Hospital: Our team’s prompt and professional response to a serious incident in July demonstrated our readiness and commitment to patient safety, and the team was universally praised and commended as a result. Read more here
New Managing Director Appointment: Patient Care gained a managing director in September as David Bradford joined us from National Express, where he had also been managing director. Learn more about David Bradford
Community Care division
We were delighted to welcome Kelly Blackmore-Lee to the EMED team this year. Kelly joined our Community Care Division as Managing Director and wasted no time hitting the road to meet our SEND and DRT teams. Her dedication and enthusiasm were clear from day one, and we’re excited to see the positive impact she’ll continue to make in this vital division. More about Kelly Blackmore-Lee
We also shot a very moving film with a family supported by our Community Care team, allowing Ava – who has complex additional needs – to access mainstream education. We heard from Steve and Neil, who have nurtured an exceptionally strong relationship with Ava and her family, including family dog Fudge! Watch the film here
In April, we launched a new park and ride service to support the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford, contributing to the division’s growth throughout 2024. Read about the launch
Safe Care division
1,000 Journeys Completed in a Month: A significant milestone was reached in June, reflecting our team’s dedication to providing safe and reliable transport services. More on this milestone
Membership of the Restraint Reduction Network: Joining this network underscores our commitment to promoting safer practices and reducing restrictive interventions in care. Learn about this initiative
We also welcomed Michelle Jones as the new Managing Director of our Safe Care division in February. With over a decade of operational experience in complex mental health services, Michelle brought a wealth of expertise and insight to EMED Group. From day one, she immersed herself in the role, travelling across the country to meet teams and gain a deep understanding of our services. Her dedication and commitment to excellence have already made a significant impact. More about Michelle Jones
Courier Services division
EMED Group’s Courier Services continue to play an essential role in supporting healthcare providers and improving patient outcomes across the UK.
Enhancing Efficiency with TrackIT360: At EMED Group, innovation drives our commitment to delivering exceptional courier services. The rollout of TrackIT360 is a testament to this commitment, offering real-time tracking, enhanced operational efficiency and improved transparency for our partners and patients.
The South Region is already fully on board with TrackIT360, streamlining deliveries and ensuring precision every step of the way. Looking ahead, the North Region is set to join by March 2025, marking a significant milestone in our mission to provide seamless, technology-driven courier services across the UK.
Norfolk & Waveney and GMEC SACT Go Live: This year has been a landmark for EMED Group’s Courier Services division with two significant service launches. In April 2024, our Norfolk & Waveney service officially went live, enhancing vital healthcare logistics and delivery in the region. Building on this momentum, November 2024 saw the successful launch of GMEC SACT (Greater Manchester East Cheshire – Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy).
